Tindall Gask Bentley congratulates the new President of the Police Federation of Australia, Mark Carroll, on his appointment.

Mr Carroll, who is also President of the Police Association of South Australia, is just the fourth president to head up the PFA since it won the right to federal registration in the High Court of Australia in 1995.

The PFA now has 60,000 members nationwide.

TGB Managing Partner Morry Bailes paid tribute to Mr Carroll, who he has worked with for 20 years as legal advisor to the Police Association of South Australia.

“Mark is a true professional and committed to serving his members above all else,” Mr Bailes said.

“I have worked side by side with Mark both in boardroom negotiations and on the ground during critical incidents, and he is certain to be an asset to the PFA in his role as President.”

Mr Carroll replaces Vince Kelly, who stepped aside as President of the PFA after seven years in office.

Mr Kelly will also call time on his 14 years as President of the Northern Territory Police Association in May 2015.

“We commend Vince for the extraordinary service he has given to Police Association members across Australia over many years, which is certain to leave a lasting legacy,” Mr Bailes said.

TGB recently partnered with the Northern Territory Police Association to provide legal services to its members.

The firm also advises the Police Association of South Australia and Western Australian Police Union.
