Buying and Selling Property: Do I Need a Conveyancer?
Conveyancing is an essential process that is required whenever property is sold and purchased in South Australia.
Conveyancing is an essential process that is required whenever property is sold and purchased in South Australia.
It involves changing the ownership of the property from the vendor(s) to the purchaser(s).
In most cases, a bank will hold a mortgage over the vendor’s property and a purchaser’s bank will register a mortgage when the property is purchased.
It is the role of the conveyancer to liaise with the bank to have either the mortgage discharged from the property prior to transferring to the name of the purchaser, or liaising with the bank to ensure it is ready with funds required on settlement day.
Almost all dealings with land titles (in South Australia at least) are now performed electronically. Paper titles are no longer part of the system and have no practical value. Tindall Gask Bentley staff are highly competent in the use of the electronic land dealings platform.
Tindall Gask Bentley does not charge separate “administration” or “file storage” or “verification of identity’ fees, as is often the case with other conveyancers and lawyers.
