Tindall Gask Bentley lawyer Belal Moraby has been named an Australia Day ambassador, and will speak to new citizens about what it means to be Australian.

Moraby, who is believed to be South Australia’s only Muslim lawyer working in a private practice, is a guest speaker at the City of Prospect’s Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony, at Prospect Town Hall on Wednesday night, January 25 from 6.30pm.

Moraby describes himself as a “passionate South Australian, practicing Muslim and keen fisherman”. He has been featured in SA Weekend magazine and is a regular blogger.

Other local Australia Day ambassadors include trauma surgeon and South Australian of the Year Dr Bill Griggs AM, champion basketball coach Jan Stirling, Anglicare Chief Executive Dr Lynn Arnold AO and cooking icon Maggie Beer.
