Light Square “Green” Building Given Green Light
Adelaide developers have gained final approval to build an eight storey, “green” building on Light Square, which will become a new home for leading South Australian law firm, Tindall Gask Bentley.
Demolition of the original structure on 76 Light Square will begin shortly, with the multi-million dollar project expected to take about a year to complete.
The state-of-the-art building will give the precinct a new look, with an environmentally friendly design.
Six levels will be dedicated to Tindall Gask Bentley’s legal practice, the ground floor has been set aside for retail and another level will be leased for office space.
Joint-proprietor and TGB Managing Partner Morry Bailes said he’s delighted that work has finally begun.
“It has been about three years in the making, so it is terrific to see the dream becoming a reality,” Mr Bailes said.
“It is going to be a fantastic looking building and will certainly add to Light Square and the city in general.
“Importantly, it will allow the members and clients of Tindall Gask Bentley to enjoy an A-grade green building for the first time in the firm’s history.”
76 Light Square was Tindall Gask Bentley’s original home, before the firm outgrew its limited office space.
