TGB’s “Ladette to Lady” event
Etiquette and clear speech was on show at Tindall Gask Bentley’s third Girlfriends in Law networking event at St Mark’s College on October 20, 2011.
Tanya Powell from Tanya Powell Model Agency provided the group of professional women with a session on decorum, focusing on proper behaviour while at a function or dinner.
Ms Powell addressed a number of topics including how to eat oysters politely, breaking a bread roll and mobile phone etiquette.
Speechmatters founder and voice coach Marilyn Bodycoat taught the ladies about clear speech through various vocal exercises and tests, with many “la la la’s”, “ooh’s and aah’s” and “Betty baked a better batch of buns.”
“While I am certain that no Ladettes were present, it was great for all of us to have a tune up and ensure that our etiquette is up to scratch,” TGB partner Amber Sprague said.
“It was a fun event, we have had great feedback, and we’re already talking about ideas for our next function.”
Girlfriends in Law provides networking events for South Australian professional women, hosted by TGB’s female lawyers.
